Lloyd Mark Sutton

Lloyd Mark Sutton is a songwriter from Wichita Falls, Texas. Born in the 50s, a child of the 60s, Sutton left home after turning seventeen in 1972 with his guitar in hand and thumbed his way across the country for a year.  He went west to Lubbock, Texas, then north to down state New York where he worked in an old backwoods lumber mill. Then after winter set in, he moved on to Atlanta, Georgia and finally made his way back to Texas.

Sutton who has played guitar since he was ten, began writing in the early 80s, and continues writing today with an original blend of acoustic, eclectic jazzy-Texas-Americana sounds that tell a story, make you feel good, and carry you away to another time and place. Sutton’s debut album "Makin' Good Time" was released October 15, 2020 and can be heard on all streaming platforms. He has performed in various venues in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.

Sutton is a co-founder of The Acoustic Parlor listening room concerts that showcases songwriters and is the founding member of the Wichita Falls Songwriters Circle. Sutton is also a member of the Wichita Falls Poetry Society. On September 15, 2022, Sutton was the featured artist in the Arts Council of Wichita Falls Center Stage series finale at the Forum.

Currently in 2024 Sutton is in the studio recording two new albums of original works when not out performing.

The title song to his debut album is "Makin' Good Time", which is based on the year he thumbed the USA in 1972 after he had turned 17. He hitchhiked from Wichita Falls to Lubbock, New York, and Atlanta in a year with guitar in hand all the way.
